Project Overview

Decoration Touch was asked to carry out a complete interior and exterior redecoration of a beautifully detailed Victorian maisonette in Hammersmith & Fulham. The project involved transforming the property inside and out, with works covering all key internal living spaces, front and rear external elevations, masonry surfaces, decorative trims, and the backyard area. The client’s objective was to fully refresh the home with a clean, elegant, and long-lasting decorative finish while preserving the character and charm of the original architecture.

Scope of Works

Interior Painting & Decoration

The internal works included a full decorative overhaul of the maisonette’s living spaces, designed to refresh the interiors and provide a fresh, polished finish throughout the home. Interior works included:
Full preparation of walls, ceilings, and woodwork across the property.
Filling, sanding, smoothing, and making good all minor imperfections and previously worn surfaces.
Redecoration of all internal rooms, hallways, corner spaces, and feature areas.
Painting of ceilings, walls, skirting boards, door frames, architraves, and internal joinery.
Careful cutting-in and finishing around sockets, switches, trims, and fittings.

Surface protection throughout the works to protect floors, furnishings, and adjacent finishes.
Final touch-ups and detailed quality inspections to ensure a clean, uniform finish.

Front & Exterior Elevation Redecoration

The external works focused on fully restoring and redecorating the maisonette’s front façade, ensuring that the property’s architectural detailing was enhanced and protected. Exterior works included:
Preparation and redecoration of the front elevation masonry and rendered surfaces.
Painting of decorative architectural features, including mouldings, trims, and façade detailing.
Repainting of window surrounds, sills, ledges, and external woodwork where required.
Finishing of external walls to improve both presentation and weather resistance.
Careful colour coordination to complement the period style of the building and surrounding streetscape.
Restoration of visual definition across the façade through crisp, clean decorative lines.
The front elevation was transformed into a fresh, elegant exterior that significantly improved the home’s kerb appeal and overall street presence.

Rear External Areas

Final part of the work was painting and redecoration works to the rear outdoor areas and backyard walls, whereby the external finish was complete on all sides of the property. Works included:
Preparation and painting of rear walls and outdoor surfaces.
Making good of minor surface damage and signs of weather wear.
Recoating of backyard boundary walls and visible external finishes.
Refreshing of the rear area to create a cleaner, brighter, and more usable outdoor environment.
These works helped tie the entire property together, ensuring that the rear of the maisonette matched the quality and finish achieved at the front and throughout the interior.

The inclusion of the outside walls and backyard ensured that the project was a complete one. The result is a beautifully redecorated maisonette that balances timeless period charm with a fresh, modern standard of presentation.
